The Bill Jarvis Migratory Bird Sanctuary in Lincoln Park, Chicago is a 10-acre sanctuary that offers a surprising haven for birds where over 150 species have been observed. With a walking path circling the fenced sanctuary and a bird viewing platform, you can easily observe a variety of feathered friends. We’ll look for warblers flitting through the trees, listen for the calls of herons and sparrows, and keep our eyes to the sky for hawks soaring overhead.

Difficulty: Easy/Moderate

Trip Type: Walk

Trip Distance: 2.0 miles approximately

Terrain: Gravel, Pavement, Grass

Notes: Crushed gravel paths circle the sanctuary. The viewing platform has a ramp. Walking will be simple as we move at a slower pace. Metered parking is available at Jarvis in the Waveland Parking Lot at the east end of W Addison.
