Escape the city buzz and dive into birding at Rainbow Beach, Chicago. This sandy oasis offers a unique birding experience thanks to its restored dune habitat and expansive beach. Over 250 species have been spotted here, making it a hotspot for both common and migratory birds.

Scan the beach for shorebirds like plovers and sandpipers. Keep an eye out for raptors circling the dunes, and head towards the breakwater for a chance to see ducks, geese, and even grebes swimming in the calm water. With a little patience, you might just spot something unexpected at Rainbow Beach.
